Description
Rectory Cottages is a pair of cottages from the 19th century. They are constructed of flint with brick dressings and feature a thatched roof. The building is U-shaped, with forward projecting wings at either end of a central section. It is 1½ stories tall and has four bays, with two-bay deep wings in front of the end bays. The gable ends of the wings have 20th-century corbelled three-light bay windows, which include a rendered band at wallplate level and two-light segmental headed casements with bargeboards that match the thatch. There are doors at the inner corners of the wings: on the left, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed brick porch in front of the door, and on the right, there is a planked door set in a segmental opening. The central section features a two-light segmental headed casement, flanked by similar blank openings, above which are eyebrow dormers with two-light casements. Small ridge stacks are located at each end of the central part, and there is a stack on the outer side of the left wing.
