Description

Quince Cottage is a cottage originally comprising two dwellings, with a 17th-century origin and a subsequent rebuilding in the 18th century. The structure has a timber-framing core, rendered with colour-washed brick, and is covered by a thatched roof. It is two-and-a-half storeys high and has three bays. A 20th-century planked door is located to the left of centre, accompanied by a small light window to its left. A late 20th-century rectangular, flat-roofed bow window is situated to the right of centre. Each bay contains 19th-century three-light, segmental-headed casement windows. Three eyebrow dormers, each containing 20th-century two-light casements with triangular side lights, are built into the wall plate. A small ridge stack sits above the door, and gable stacks are located at each end of the building.
