Description

This is a 19th-century milepost located opposite the drive to Oakwood Farm in Goldsborough, North Yorkshire. It is made of cast iron and has a stone support. The milepost is triangular in shape with a round head and stands approximately one metre high. The inscriptions on the milepost include "Knaresborough and Green Hammerton Road Goldsborough" on the head, "Knaresborough 2 miles" on the left face, and "Green Hammerton 6 miles" on the right face. The plate is secured to the support with two bolts through the head.
