Description
Moorriggs and the adjoining barn are a farmhouse and barn dated 1688, as inscribed above the entrance. The building features roughcast walls and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes roughcast chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a right-angled two-storey, single-bay extension at the rear, creating an L-shape, alongside a taller three-bay barn. The central entrance has a plank door set within a painted stone surround, topped by an inscribed lintel. The farmhouse has casement windows with glazing bars, some of which are in original painted stone surrounds. The extension features sash windows in 19th-century painted stone surrounds. The barn includes a large central segmental-arched cart entrance, a flat-headed doorway on the right, and a 20th-century garage door on the left. The rear extensions to the barn are not of interest.
