Description
Moorahill Farmhouse and the attached barn are a 17th-century farmhouse and barn located in Bampton. The building features a lintel inscribed with "W&W 1714". Constructed of stone rubble, the farmhouse is roughcast and has a slate roof. The east elevation is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the barn situated to the south. The windows are sashed with single glazing bars and horns, and there is a fire window in the third bay. The entrance has a half-glazed door. The farmhouse includes a squat cross-axial stack and a gable-end stack. The barn has two flat-arched entrances, one of which is blocked, along with ventilation slots, a crow-stepped gable end, and a lean-to outshut. The north return features a plain entrance. The west elevation has a gabled wing with a large projecting gable-end stack and a small gabled projection, along with an outshut under a catslide roof and a barn entrance. Inside, there are chamfered beams, a spice cupboard, and part of a plank and muntin partition, as well as panelled doors.
