Description
This is a bank barn located immediately to the north of Stanegarth, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof with crow-stepped gable ends. The north elevation has been partly rebuilt, and the barn entrance appears to have been widened, supported by an iron girder as a lintel and a stone cheek. The south elevation includes three cow house entrances, two of which are blocked, as well as a blocked winnowing door, all with dressed surrounds. The gable ends have ventilation holes and an owl hole on the east end. Inside, the barn has tie beam and strut trusses, spanning approximately five bays. This building is included for its group value.
