Description

Bampton Hall is a house that is probably from the 17th century or early 18th century, with a refacing from the late 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble, with part of the stone exposed at the rear, and has a slate roof. The south-west elevation features two storeys and three bays, with paired windows in the outer bays. The windows are sashed, with glazing bars on the ground floor and single glazing bars on the first floor. The entrance in the second bay has a glazed door. There are squat gable-end stacks. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a rounded stair bay to the left. The south-east return of the wing includes a window with small-paned glazing and a sashed window on the ground floor. The first-floor windows have chamfered reveals and were formerly fitted with flat-faced mullions, arranged in two lights. The plain entrance on the north-west return has 20th-century casements. There is also a gable-end stack and low outbuildings. Inside, there is a stone winding stair.
