Description
The byre located south-east of Grange Farmhouse is a building from the late 17th century or early 18th century, currently used as a storehouse and henhouse. It features limestone rubble walls and a graduated greenslate roof. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays. There is a left segmental-arched doorway and a right doorway with a large stone lintel, both fitted with plank doors. External stone steps on the right lead to a loft doorway, which is flanked by small openings; the opening to the right has a projecting sill and was likely used for pigeons. The left return wall includes a loft doorway that now serves the henhouse. This building is listed for its group value with Grange Farmhouse.
