Description

Halfa Bridge is a road bridge built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features two segmental arches supported by a central pier. The bridge has splayed cut waters that rise to create pedestrian refuges, which are protected by solid parapets. Although it is dated to the mid-18th century, it was thought by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Westmorland, in 1936 to possibly be from the 17th century.
