Description
This former farmhouse, now used for storage, is located on the west side of High Drybarrows and likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble and features a slate roof. The east elevation has two storeys and four bays, with a drip course above the ground floor. Most windows are small-paned sliding sashes, although the fourth bay on the ground floor has a wider small-paned casement and a blocked fire window to the right. The first floor includes a blocked window in the third bay. The entrance to the third bay features a three-fielded-panel door with strap hinges and an overlight, along with a gabled porch. The gable-end stacks are corbelled, with the northern stack being particularly notable. The west elevation is built into the slope of the ground.
Inside, there is a panelled partition with four heights—two narrow and two tall—along with a three-panel door. Another panelled partition has square panels, partially obscured by a later stair. The first floor has a panelled partition similar to that on the ground floor, featuring two doors. The fireplace on this floor has a projecting surround with a hollow chamfer, frieze, and cornice, along with a 19th-century grate.
