Description

This is a milestone located on the east side of the road, approximately 300 yards north-west of Middleshaw Crescent. It is possibly from the early 19th century and is made of a single stone that stands about 2 feet high. The stone has a triangular shape with a rounded top and features ruled dressing. It is painted white, with sans-serif lettering and numbers in black: "KIRKBY LONSDALE 8" on the north face and "KENDAL 4" on the south face.
