Description
Strawberry Bank Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with early 18th century additions and later alterations. The building is constructed of wet-dashed rubble sitting on a plinth, topped with graduated slate roofs. It features a symmetrical design with two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays. There is a wing and outshut at the rear, along with a lean-to on the north side.
The central porch is full-height and gabled, with internal steps leading up to a panelled inner door that is 2 inches thick and has original ironwork. On the ground floor, there is a large sash window flanked by narrower sashes, while the porch has a fixed window on the first floor and attic, all featuring glazing bars. The farmhouse has stone chimneys at each end.
Inside, the front room on the right has a blocked fireplace with a segmental arch and a decorative plaster panel above featuring vine-scrolls. There is also a full-height panelled cupboard to the right, which has a semicircular head and flanking fluted pilasters, as well as a moulded ceiling beam.
