Description

This guidestone, located at the corner of The Causeway approximately 7 metres south of St Marys Lodge, dates from around 1836. It is made of stone and is approximately square in shape, set into a stone wall. The top panel features raised lettering that reads: "LANCASTER/OVER SANDS 15 MILES/ULVERSTON/OVER SANDS 7 MILES". Below this, there is additional lettering that states: "GRANGE/CARK", accompanied by two pointing hands.
