Description

This 19th-century milestone is made of sandstone and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The top is inscribed with the word 'KIRKLAND'. On the left side, it reads 'GARSTANG 2 1/4 MILES. LANCASTER 13 MILES'. The right side features the inscriptions 'GT. ECCLESTON 4 1/4 MILES. POULTON LE FYLDE 10 1/4 MILES. BLACKPOOL 14 MILES'.
