Description

This is a 19th-century milestone made of sandstone. It has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The left side is inscribed with the distances to Garstang (6 1/4 miles) and Lancaster (17 miles). The right side shows the distances to Great Eccleston (1/4 mile), Poulton-le-Fylde (6 1/4 miles), and Blackpool (10 miles). The top of the milestone is inscribed with the name "Great Eccleston."
