Description

This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is made of sandstone and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The left side is inscribed with the distances to Garstang (4 ¼ miles) and Lancaster (15 miles). The right side shows the distances to Great Eccleston (2 ¼ miles), Poulton-le-Fylde (8 ¼ miles), and Blackpool (12 miles). The upper face is inscribed with the name "Upper Rawcliffe."
