Description

This pair of gatepiers, dating from the 18th century, is located on the roadside north of St. Michael's Hall. They are made of rusticated sandstone ashlar and have a square plan, featuring moulded bases and cornices topped with ball finials. These gatepiers are believed to have originally stood outside the previous St. Michael's Hall, which was demolished around 1840.
