Description

This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is made of sandstone and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The top is inscribed with the word "UPPER RAWCLIFFE." On the left side, it reads "GARSTANG 5 ¼ MILES. LANCASTER 16 MILES." The right side features the inscriptions "GT. ECCLESTON 1 1/4 MILES. POULTON-LE-FYLDE 7 ¼ MILES. BLACKPOOL 11 MILES."
