Description

This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is made of sandstone and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The top is inscribed with the word "KIRKLAND." The left side features the inscriptions: "GARSTANG 1 1/4 MILES. LANCASTER 12 MILES." The right side has the inscriptions: "GT ECCLESTON 5 1/4 MILES. POULTON LE FYLDE 11 1/4 MILES. BLACKPOOL 15 MILES."
