Description
Bluebell House is a house located in Cartmel, likely built in the late 17th century with later additions. It features roughcast stone walls and a slate roof, standing two storeys high with three bays. The windows are sashed, with a tripartite sash in a low horizontal opening on the ground floor of the first bay, and vertical glazing bars on the first floor sashes. The central entrance is set within a 20th-century porch that has two glazed doors. There is a gable-end stack, and the rear of the house includes a gabled wing with garage doors, a first-floor casement window, and ventilation slots, as well as a large cross-axial stack. To the left, there is a two-bay extension featuring a garage door, an entrance, and first-floor casement windows. Inside, the house has a plank and muntin partition, a stone fireplace with a corbelled lintel, and a staircase with turned balusters, square newels, and a moulded handrail.
