The milepost is made of cast iron and stands approximately 3 feet high. It features three concave sides and an ogee domical top. At the top center, there is an oval foundry mark that reads "T. WINDER GATEBECK FOUNDRY." Separate plates are attached to the sides of the main casting, displaying town names and distances in raised letters.
