Description
The building is a library that dates back to 1820 and was originally a Sandemanian chapel. It has two storeys on the east side and one storey on the west side, constructed from coursed rubble with a slate roof and two chimneys. The building features quoins and has blind gable ends. On each side, there are three round-headed windows with plain stone surrounds, keystones, and impost blocks. Two of the windows on the east side still have their glazing bars. There is a similar doorway facing Chapel Lane, which is now concealed by a 20th-century porch. The doorway includes a radiating fanlight and a door made of six raised and fielded panels. The ground floor on the east side has two sash windows and two doors, also of six raised and fielded panels.
