Description

This is an early 19th-century group of shops, built in front of older buildings. The three buildings are two and a half storeys high, with slate roofs and three chimneys. The ground floors are rusticated with bands. The windows are sash windows with all original glazing bars, set in plain surrounds. Number 48 has a shopfront featuring Doric pilasters, although the glazing is modern. Number 52 retains just the cornice and the right-hand pilaster of a similar shopfront. A rubble-built range extends to the rear; this is likely earlier, but lacks datable features.
