Description
Petteril Green and rear stables is a farmhouse and stables built in the early 19th century. It features incised cement render over dressed grey sandstone, with an eaves cornice, parapet, and V-jointed quoins set on a squared plinth. The building has a hipped roof covered with graduated greenslate and is topped with grey sandstone ashlar chimney stacks. It stands two storeys tall and has five bays, with single-bay wings on either side and a right-angled stable at the rear. The entrance includes a panelled door with an overlight, situated within a prostyle Ionic porch. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed in painted stone surrounds, with a larger French window above the entrance that opens onto the porch roof. The wings also have sash windows, with the ground-floor windows in the right wing being tripartite. The right wing extends to the rear, forming a stable that features a segmental arched cart entrance beneath sash windows.
