Description
Inglewood House is a farmhouse with a rear section dated and inscribed L. & I.O. 1700, featuring an early 19th-century extension. The building has painted rendered walls with V-jointed quoins, a modillioned cornice at the eaves, and a parapet. The roof is hipped and covered with graduated greenslate, complemented by stone and brick banded chimney stacks. The original house has a sandstone slate roof with rebuilt red sandstone chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the original 1700 house positioned at right angles to the rear, creating an overall L-shape. The entrance features a top-glazed panelled door set within a Tuscan modillioned pedimented doorcase. Sash windows with glazing bars are present, with larger bow windows on the left side, all framed in painted stone surrounds. The left return wall also has sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. The earlier section includes a central plank door within a painted chamfered stone surround, along with sash windows with glazing bars in 19th-century painted stone surrounds. The adjoining barns are not of interest.
