Description
Holly Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension and alterations. It features whitewashed rubble walls beneath a Welsh slate roof, with the bottom course made of sandstone slates and red sandstone chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a two-bay extension on the left that shares a common roof. The central entrance is a 20th-century plank door set in a painted stone surround. There is one original three-light window with a flat stone mullion remaining, and to the right, a blocked fire window. The left side has a sash window with glazing bars in a 19th-century painted stone surround, while the upper floor has small Yorkshire sash windows in original painted stone surrounds. The extension features a large 20th-century casement window and similar small windows above, all in 19th-century painted stone surrounds. The cottage is listed for its group value with the Doctor's house and surgery.
