Description

The Cross Keys Hotel is a public house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed with painted incised stucco walls, featuring V-jointed quoins, and sits beneath a partly hipped roof covered in graduated greenslate with banded stucco chimney stacks; one chimney stack was rebuilt in the 20th century using brick. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a lower, right-angled extension to the right. A panelled door is set within a painted stone surround topped by a pediment. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within painted stone surrounds. The extension has similar windows, with three in the right return wall, one small, and one double sash window. The left return wall displays a panel inscribed with the hotel's name.
