Description
Well Knowe House and Farmhouse is a pair of houses dated 1650, with later alterations and additions. The building is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the first bay being part of the farmhouse. The windows are sashed with glazing bars, and the ground floor features tripartite sashes in the second and fourth bays. The entrance in the third bay has a flat bracketed canopy and a six-fielded-panel door, with the lintel displaying two blind round arches. There are gable-end stacks, with the right stack projecting and having set offs. At the rear, there is an outshut under a catslide roof and a three-bay gabled wing that forms part of the farmhouse. The left return includes a French window, an entrance in a gabled porch, and some small-paned pivoted casements.
