Description

The Old Farmhouse and Old Farm Cottage date from the early 18th century, with later additions. They are built of roughcast stone with a stone rubble outbuilding, all under a slate roof. The original farmhouse is two storeys and four bays wide, though the first bay appears to be a later addition, indicated by a projecting slate course over the ground floor. Remnants of a slate dripcourse are visible over the ground floor. Most windows are sash windows with vertical glazing bars; one window in the second bay has 28 panes. Casement windows are found in the first bay. The first bay has a plain entrance, while a gabled porch is present on the third bay. There are gable-end stacks, one on the right gable and one on the former left gable. An outbuilding to the right includes an entrance, a sash window, and two garage doors. The rear of the property features an outshut with a cat slide roof and a gabled wing. Inside, features include chamfered beams, wide-boarded doors with H-L hinges, a stone staircase, and wide floorboards on the first floor.
