Description
The Brow is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of painted stone rubble and topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays. The windows feature casements, with a fire window to the left and a central flat-topped half-dormer. The entrance is plain, and there are gable-end stacks. The right side of the house has an entrance and a window with a two-light wooden chamfered-mullioned frame, while a similar window is found on the left side. A 19th-century rear extension includes sashed windows and large paired doors.
Inside, the first floor reveals two exposed cruck trusses. The fireplace includes a spice cupboard with a door inscribed "TM 1689," along with another cupboard on the side wall. There is a stud and plaster partition, with the plaster panels featuring simple line borders and traces of a similar pattern above the fireplace bressummer. A spiral stone stair is present, and the first floor also has plank and muntin partitions with two-panel doors.
