Description
Orchard Rise is a house located in Lower Allithwaite, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays. A modillioned cornice runs along the top. The windows are sashed and include glazing bars. The round-headed entrance is framed by a doorcase with half-columns that do not have capitals, an entablature with a pulvinated frieze, and angle blocks adorned with rosettes. The entrance also includes a fanlight and a glazed door. There are gable-end stacks on the house. At the back, there is a single-storey gabled rear wing that has a gable-end stack and an adjoining rear range built into the slope of the ground, featuring a single-pitch roof, which includes a privy.
