Description

Hill Farmhouse is likely of early to mid-18th century origin. It is constructed of roughcast stone with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has four bays. The windows are plate-glass casements. A flat-topped dormer is present. The entrance is sheltered by a flat, bracketed canopy and features a glazed door. Gable-end stacks are visible, with the stack to the left corbelled out. The rear of the house includes a gabled wing and a single-storey extension. A lateral stack with a round shaft is also present, alongside a round-headed stair window. Inside, stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops are a notable feature, as is a fireplace inscribed with β€œIS/1799”. The staircase has panelled square newels, turned balusters and a moulded handrail.
