Description
Parkside House is a house with an adjacent barn, dating from 1658, with later alterations. It is constructed of roughcast stone with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with a gallery to the right. A moulded gutter runs along the top. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars; the window in the third bay of the ground floor is a seven-light, single-chamfered mullioned window. The entrance to the second bay has the date stone "I E/1658" above a wide-boarded door with a latch. Large, cross-axial stacks are present. The gallery, which was once used as a gallery and is now a barn, is of stone rubble and has an entrance with a stable door and a small window to the right, both with slate lintels. The barn entrance has paired doors with weather boarding above. The right return has ventilation slots. The rear of the building features two gabled wings; one wing has a sash window with 30 panes, a lean-to outshut, and a gabled wing projecting from the gallery.
