Description
The Village Lock-up is a former lock-up building located in Cartmel, constructed from stone rubble with some roughcast and dressed quoins, and it features a slate roof. The structure is rectangular and two stories high. The gable end facing the street has a lintel above a blocked entrance or window, as well as a first-floor window that includes a chamfered wooden mullion and iron bars at the front. On the right side of the building, there is an entrance with a door that has ventilation holes at the top. The rear of the lock-up features a gable-end stack. The exact date of construction is uncertain.
