Description
Holt's Fold Farmhouse and Cottage is a farmhouse dated 1690, with later additions. It is constructed from stone rubble, with dressed stone on the addition, and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and four bays, with the first two bays projecting and gabled; the first bay is a later extension.
On the ground floor, there is a sashed window under a label mould in the second bay, while the third bay has a four-light double-chamfered-mullioned window also under a label mould. The first floor includes a three-light single-chamfered-mullioned window under a label mould in the third bay, which also has a small first-floor window. The first bay features a plain entrance, the second bay has an entrance in a gabled porch, the third bay has an entrance with dated lintels, and the fourth bay has an entrance under a label mould, which may have originally been a window.
The left return of the building has two bays with casement windows and a plain entrance. The rear of the farmhouse has the end two bays clad in slate, with one three-light window that has one missing mullion. There are valley and gable-end stacks on the addition.
