Description
Thompson Brothers Meals, located behind the United Reformed Church, is a warehouse that was formerly a church, built in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of dressed red sandstone with larger ashlar quoins and features a slate roof with a coped gable at the front, along with a 20th-century brick chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and has two bays.
The north gable has a projecting two-storey gabled porch, which is adorned with a pilaster strip surround at the entrance, a moulded cornice, and two two-panel doors. Above the entrance, there is a casement window with glazing bars. To the left, there is an extension with a sloping roof, a plank garage door, and a sash window with glazing bars. The side windows have rounded heads with springers and keys; while some have been filled and altered, others still retain their glazing bars.
