Description

The churchyard wall south of the Church of St Mary is dated 1897, as indicated on the gates. It is constructed from a mix of red sandstone rubble and cobbles, topped with chamfered red sandstone coping. The wall encloses the south and east sides of the churchyard and features two entrances. Each entrance has squared gate posts with shaped caps and wrought-iron overthrows, although the lamp at the east entrance is missing. To the left of the east entrance, there is a recess that contains a round-headed arch, which is from an original church window.
