Description

The garden wall and gate piers to the west of Carleton Hill date from the late 18th century and are constructed of red sandstone. The wall features a moulded plinth and coping, enclosing the garden on three sides in front of the farmhouse. The entrance is marked by two gate piers, which have V-joint squared columns and moulded capitals, topped with carved stone pine cones. This structure is listed for its group value with the adjoining farmhouse.
