Description

The garden wall and gate piers in front of Westfield House date from the early to mid-19th century and are constructed of dressed sandstone. The wall is in an L-shape, adjoining the left return of the house. The west section of the wall is 1.5 metres high, curving and flat-coped, and runs south for approximately 25 metres. The curved south-west corner features a series of quadrant ramps that step down. The south section of the wall is 0.75 metres high, has chamfered coping, runs east for about 20 metres, and includes short serpentine links to a central pair of gate piers. This structure is included for its group value.
