Description
Bowbank House and its attached wing date from the early 19th century. The house is constructed of squared and coursed rubble, with a stone-flagged roof and stone chimney stacks. The wing has a Welsh slate roof.
The entrance front has two storeys and three irregular bays. It features flush tooled-and-margined quoins. A partly-glazed 6-panel door sits within a 20th-century gabled trellis porch on the right side. Windows are scattered throughout, with flush lintels and projecting sills, including 9-pane sashes flanking the door, a 12-pane sash above the door, a central mid-wall stair window with a radially glazed head, and a further 12-pane sash to the left. The roof has coped gables and corniced end stacks.
A set-back, lower two-storey wing with three bays and flush quoins is attached to the right. It has altered openings and replaced sashes, and a coped right gable.
The garden front displays two storeys and three bays with flush quoins, and a central replaced glazed double door within a flush surround. There are 12-pane sashes with flush lintels and projecting sills. The wing features a 12-pane sash to the left and a replaced glazed door with a 4-pane sash above to the right.
A one-storey garage attached to the right of the entrance front is not considered to be of special interest.
