Description

This is a warehouse, dated 1866, located at Workington Brewery on Ladies' Walk. It is listed as having group value with the nearby brewery tower and maltings. The warehouse has painted stucco walls under a hipped roof covered in graduated greenslate tiles. It features an ashlar chimney stack and two lead-domed cupolas topped with weather vanes. It is two storeys high and four bays wide. The original design included a blocked segmental archway and some original windows, although various 20th-century doorways and windows have been added. The upper floor retains a blocked alternate loft doorway and window, all within painted stone surrounds with false keystones. Adjoining 20th-century additions are not considered to be of architectural interest.
