Description

This is a shop at the entrance to the Covered Market, built in 1861. It is constructed of painted ashlar, featuring a bracketed cornice, rusticated pilasters, and a chamfered plinth. The roof is covered with slate and is hipped. The building is two stories high and has two bays. A 20th-century rounded corner door is set within a pilastered doorcase, above which is a radial fanlight. To the right of the door is a double round-arched shop window with radial-head glazing bars, set within a pilastered surround. Upper-floor casement windows have glazing bars. The left return wall has a similar design, with a round-headed doorway and windows.
