Description
The Green Dragon Hotel is a hotel that dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features painted incised stucco walls with angle pilasters set on a moulded plinth, and has a graduated greenslate roof with painted and rendered chimney stacks. The building is three storeys high with three bays, while the right side is two storeys and has four bays, all under a common roof. The entrance includes a six-panel door with an overlight, framed by a pilastered doorcase with a frieze decorated with urns. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, except for those in the end bays on the right, which do not have bars, all set in painted stone surrounds. The right portion of the hotel features flat 20th-century dormer windows. The hotel was taken over by the Central Control Board in 1916 and returned to private ownership in 1973.
