Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on the west side of Curwen Street, Workington. The building is constructed of painted roughcast walls with a graduated greenslate roof featuring a coped gable and kneeler on the left side. A cement-rendered chimney stack is also present. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with a lower, recessed bay to the left. A 20th-century door is set within a pilastered, pedimented doorcase, above which is a radial fanlight. The ground floor has sash windows, while replacement casement windows with glazing bars are located above, all set in plain reveals. The recessed bay to the left has a further 20th-century door within a painted stone surround, above which is a casement window with glazing bars in a plain reveal. The building is of group value with numbers 11 and 13.
