Description

Waver Bridge Farmhouse and the adjoining barns date from the early 18th century, incorporating part of an earlier house inscribed with the date 1670 above the rear entrance. The barns are from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building features English garden wall bond brickwork and a graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and kneelers, along with brick chimney stacks. The rear ground floor is made of whitewashed stone.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with five bays and has flanking two-storey barns that have a lower roof line. The rear of the house has a projection that forms a T-shape, which is the original part of the house. There is a 20th-century door set in a painted stone architrave. The right side has sash windows with glazing bars, while the window over the entrance and the upper floor to the left are two-pane sashes, all within painted stone architraves. To the left of the entrance is a larger sash window with glazing bars in a late 18th-century painted stone surround, and there is a blocked window on the extreme left.

The barns feature slit vents, with the one on the left having ground floor openings under wooden lintels. The end wall of the barn on the right has a large plank door for cart access, with a loft above. At the rear of the house, there is a side entrance beneath an inscribed lintel with a pointed soffit.
