Description
The walls and gate piers to the west of Cumrew House are a combination of 18th and 19th century features. The garden wall on the left is made of ashlar, while the wall on the right is constructed from hammer-dressed red sandstone. At the junction, there is a pier, and the wall consists of two sections: the left section is earlier with a rounded coping, and the right section is a 19th century low wall built on a chamfered plinth and topped with chamfered coping. The square piers have pyramidal caps, and there is a broad 20th century wooden gate. These structures are included partly for their group value with Cumrew House.
