Description
The garden wall and gate piers, located south of The Grove, were built in the mid-19th century and are made of dressed sandstone. The structure features an L-plan wall that is attached to the left return of the house.
The west wall stands 2.5 meters high and is flat-coped, extending south for 18.0 meters. The lower flat-coped south wall is divided into two sections and runs east for 30.0 meters. To the west of the center, there is a pair of rusticated gate piers topped with corniced caps and pyramidal finials. The longer section to the east of the piers has a series of curved steps at either end, which reduce the height of the center to 0.75 meters. The east end features chamfered quoins.
The rubble wall at the east return is not considered of special interest. This structure is included for its group value.
