Description

Park House is a mid-19th century house with flanking wings. The main part of the house has a front of dressed, tooled sandstone, while the returns are of rubble and the rear is of squared sandstone. The roofs are covered in large purple slates and there are stone chimney stacks.

The house is two storeys high and symmetrical, with three bays. The central doorway has a six-panel door and overlight. The four-pane sash windows have flush lintels and projecting sills; the intermediate glazing bars have been removed. The roof has coped gables. There are corniced chimney stacks at each end.

A one-storey, two-bay wing is set back to the left. It has a replaced four-panel door with tooled and margined jambs and lintel. A twelve-pane sash window is to the left.

A two-storey, one-bay wing is set back to the right. It has a small four-pane sash window set high and a bellcote on the apex of the gable.

On the rear of the right wing, a section of stone bolection moulding has been re-set and used as a window lintel.

This building is distinct from Park Farmhouse, located 230 metres to the south.
