Description
The gate piers and boundary wall at Lochend, Lochend Wood, Dunbar, date from the early 19th century. The pair of gate piers are made of grey ashlar and feature raised pilasters at the center, which are interrupted by wider horizontal bands with chamfered arrises. Scrolled volutes are positioned below the neck of an ogee pedestal that supports a large ball finial.
The boundary walls are constructed from random red rubble sandstone and have rubble coping. These walls sweep up to the gate piers and delineate the policies of Lochend House.
