Description

Mid 19th century, converted from earlier cottage. 2-

storey gabled cottage, with 1st floor breaking eaves.

Random red rubble with stugged ashlar dressings.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay, symmetrical; strip

fanlight to doorway at centre flanked by windows at

ground; 1st floor windows to outer bays with gabled

dormerheads.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: incorporated in walled garden walls.

Advanced gabled bay to left with 1st floor window. 2

recessed bays to right with 2 ground floor windows.

12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Grey

slates and overhanging eaves; timber brackets barge

boards and kingposts. Decorative filigree clay ridge

tiles. Gable head stacks with moulded coping; original

cans retained.

WALLED GARDEN: high rubble walls with ashlar coping to

rectangular plan garden. Gateway to SE and to W. W

gateway with pyramid caps to piers and walls swept up at

sides.
